It is exciting times for us in Peterborough.  We have recently opened a brand new facility on behalf of Sports Direct, and our close team are working hard to embed procedures and policy and to ensure we exceed our customers expectations.   As a result of this we are now recruiting fora Team Leader on Night shift.

Vacancy Description: (role requirements, duties)

We are looking to recruit a Team Leader with experience of working in a fast paced environment to work Monday-Friday night shift 22.00-06.00. The main purpose of the role is to plan, coordinate, supervise and report on the work activities of a team to meet site/customer KPI’s; you will provide effective communication, leadership, motivation as well as training & development. At times this role will hold sole responsibility outside normal working hours and weekends.

Key Accountabilities of the role;

·Plan, manage and adjust staffing levels to meet operational requirements and customer priorities

·Communicate to shift / team on daily tasks, changes to working procedures, H&S, Audit etc.

·Complete shift handovers accurately with oncoming / off going Team Leaders / Shift Manager.

·Updates team on required targets / rates, and accuracy checks, providing training and feedback to colleagues, taking action on poor performance where required

·Ensure there is an appropriate level of multi-skilled colleagues to perform tasks in an effective and efficient manner, completing training records to the required standard

·Develops others to provide cover for holidays, sickness & absence and support career progression

·Ensure all colleagues follow Safe Working Practices and Health and Safety, investigating accidents and near miss incidents.

·Ensure all documentation is dealt with accordingly; all relevant paperwork is checked and handed to the relevant department

·To make sure all warehouse discrepancies are reported to the customer via Admin.

·Make sure all direct reports and agency staff are on time and presentable

·Complete probation reviews for new starters

·Demonstrates Clipper Values and ensures self and all colleagues adhere to the Company Code of Conduct

·Resolve low level employee relations issues in line with Company Policy & Procedures and Site Rules

·Manage absence,completing return to works and review absence levels in linewith Company Policy and Procedures

·To ensure housekeeping standards are consistently maintained

·Pro-active approach to continuous improvement, identifies new ways of working to improve, gets involved with working parties to improve efficiency & cost

·To carry out any other duties as directed by a member of the management team

  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Good interpersonal, leadership and motivation skills
  • Experience of handling low level employee relation issues
  • Good analytical and numerical skills
  • Good communicator – both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of health & Safety requirements
  • Customer facing experience
  • Computer literate, experience of WMS systems and MS Office packages
  • Team Leader Level 2 Qualification, desirable
  • Experience of working within a 6S environment, desirable
  • Ability to embrace change and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work under your own initiative
