Clipper Logistics Support New Look Store Openings Programme

Leading high value retail logistics specialists Clipper Logistics Group has been working closely with major high street fashion brand New Look, to support its substantial Store Builds Programme.

Since 2009, Clipper has been a trusted supplier to New Look supporting the retailers ambitious growth plans to expand its UK trading space with a series of new store openings.

New Look’s fashion empire has grown significantly since its first store opening in Taunton in 1969. The retailer now has over 1000 stores worldwide, in the UK and Republic of Ireland, Middle East, Singapore, Russia and Poland. Last year alone, over 355 million customers visited New Look via its on-line and high street stores.

Since the partnership began, Clipper has been managing New Look’s UK distribution requirements from its dedicated Distribution Centre and has worked closely with the retailer to implement a highly efficient operational solution.

The New Store opening process is managed successfully over a 4-day period from Monday to Thursday and dispatched to the new store early the following week, ready for the store opening usually on the Friday of that week. During this process, Clipper takes care of all pre-retail requirements prior to the products arriving at the stores.

As part of the process, Clipper has introduced a number of initiatives to significantly improve operations and service to the store, including the ability to quality inspect and audit the products before sending to store, relabeling and size cubing, removing any stock pre-delivery that is deemed to have been over allocated and maintaining product in an over bagged manner pre-opening to present to the store in a pristine condition, helping to create a seamless store opening in a very timely manner.

In the period to May 2011, Clipper has completed an impressive 37 new store builds for the retailer.

Richard Ball, contract manager – Clipper Logistics said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with New Look and to be supporting them with their on-going store opening programme. We look forward to working closely with them in the foreseeable future and to continuing to deliver a great service to the retailer and its new stores.

Pat Lee, New Look group operations director, commented: “This solution is a tremendous benefit to the New Look business and has streamlined the complex process of new store openings – another good example of why we choose to work with Clipper.”
