Retail logistics experts Clipper have been appointed to provide an e-fulfillment solution which includes click and collect and home delivery options for GO Outdoors the UK’s largest specialist retailer of camping equipment, tents, outdoor clothing and footwear. The service will allow the camping and outdoor pursuits business to improve its overall customer experience and service levels by offering additional choice, including provision for the collection of goods ordered online, from its 47 UK stores.
The solution will be based at Clipper’s new shared use distribution facility in Burton-on-Trent which has room to absorb the planned growth of GO Outdoors’ multichannel business. The shared user nature of the facility will allow for flex around skills, expertise and technology, whilst providing scalability, in order to provide a cost effective fulfillment solution to GO Outdoors.
Nic Farrell, Web Operations Manager at GO Outdoors said: “Clipper have demonstrated the agility to put in place a solution that will enable us to expand our product ranges, increase delivery options, and improve the overall customer experience at the fastest growing outdoor retailer in the UK. The service will provide a streamlined and systematic solution for our click and collect service as well as our home delivery option, across a diverse range of products. This puts GO Outdoors in a great position to support further planned growth of multichannel shopping.”
Sean Hallows, Operations Director at Clipper said: “Clipper is recognised as one of the UK’s leading experts in multichannel retail logistics and we’ll use our experience to provide a best-in-class service to GO Outdoors. Reducing cost, complexity and risk from the supply chain has been a key focus for Clipper in recent years. Staying one step ahead of retail trends in order to provide consumers with a better range of purchase and delivery options is key to consumer confidence in retail brands. We look forward to working with GO Outdoors on this project to help achieve their development and growth plans.”
