Womenswear fashion brand, Whistles, has re-awarded Clipper Logistics plc the contract to manage the receipt and distribution of its entire product range to customers worldwide, supporting the retailer’s continued growth strategy. The four-year contract underlines the longevity of the partnership and will allow for continued customer service excellence.
The contract includes a full range of retail logistics services and will see Clipper handle stock destined for over 120 retail outlets, as well as e-commerce customers worldwide. The contract will also include an extensive range of pre-retail services, such as quality control, steam tunneling and hanging. This new contract will allow Whistles to pursue their international growth strategy as the business continues to grow its customer base and sales, which includes the recent launch of a menswear range.
Following a recent reevaluation of supply chain processes, all garments will now arrive at the Clipper facility in flat pack form. Therefore, a wide range of items will require pre-retail services, such as steam tunneling, to ensure they reach the customer in perfect condition, every time. This will allow for distribution direct to stores in a ‘shop floor ready’ format, or direct to customer, creating further cost and time efficiencies.
Steve Parkin Executive Chairman of Clipper said: “Whistles is a well-respected fashion retailer and we’re proud to have been part of their growth story. Our specialist retail systems and processes have allowed retailers of all sizes to take advantage of best practice supply chain. Whistles has been a real success story and we look forward to this contract continuing to grow over the coming years as the business reaches its next major milestones.”
The retail logistics operation will be based in Milton Keynes, where the workforce servicing the Whistles contract has already grown. Further appointments are anticipated to cope with growing sales volumes during the life of the contract.
