Clipper is the sum of many parts and a combination of roles and functions, which are crucial in making us the company we are. These key roles fall into two categories – operations and specialist.
Our General Managers are key players within our senior management structure. They’re the people who bridge the gap between the needs of our customers and our corporate and operational goals, while keeping their staff motivated. To succeed, you’ll need commercial acumen, operational know-how, good interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting customer relationships.
Operations and Transport Managers
Our Operations Managers are responsible for a team of Shift/First Line Managers, while Transport Managers oversee the Transport Co-ordinators and Planners. As one of our Operations Managers, you’ll oversee the operational performance of your site and contracts, improve efficiencies and productivity, liaise with customers, and meet budget, KPI and SLA targets. You’ll also be accountable for the performance, training, development and wellbeing of your staff.
First Line/Shift Managers
As a First Line Manager, you’ll play a vital role in us successfully meeting our KPIs and SLAs. You’ll take day-to-day control of your shift – making sure process and procedures are followed, targets are met, problems are solved and staff stay motivated. You’ll also be expected to delegate tasks and ensure your team is adequately briefed, trained and equipped to do their job. All while identifying and resolving operational and technical issues, and reporting concerns that require action.
As a Finance Manager, part of your role will be to closely monitor our business. You’ll report weekly and monthly figures, and constantly analyse the health of your contracts – controlling costs, identifying opportunities and recommending improvements. You’ll also attend customer reviews, report relevant figures, and provide updates for our Business Tender submissions.
Human Resources Manager
To be a successful HR Manager, you’ll need to be a real people person. You’ll find it easy to build relationships at any level, challenge convention, and recommend the most appropriate course of action. You’ll also get involved in all aspects of the ‘people agenda’ – from recruiting and developing staff, to advising on sensitive employee relations matters. Most importantly, you’ll implement creative initiatives which excite, motivate and engage staff, and demonstrate why Clipper is the natural choice for every employee.
Business Solutions (Incorporating Development, Project, & IT Managers)
Various roles focus on strengthening existing relationships and forging new ones to win business, improve processes, design and test operational solutions and support ‘go live’ implementations. As a manager in one of these key areas, you’ll be responsible for providing our creative energy. To succeed, you’ll need to be a good relationship builder, a team player, a confident presenter and an effective communicator. You’ll also need to be IT literate, technically-astute, operationally-aware and a proven planner.
