Retail logistics specialist to take on additional Manchester site and 76 new members of staff

Leading high value and retail logistics specialist, Clipper Logistics Group, has announced a new contract with Americana International to run its UK warehousing and transport operations.

Americana International owns the Bench brand, which will continue to run from the company’s existing warehouse facility in Worsley, near Manchester. Clipper’s contract includes the lease for the Worsley facility over a five and a half year term, as well as the transfer of 76 new members of staff who will join Clipper’s team in December.

Sandy Hunter, Clipper Logistics finance director and head of the Americana project, said: "This is a very exciting operation for Clipper and will enable us to deliver a bespoke, integrated solution for a major high-street brand, owned by Americana International. We’d like to welcome the 76 new members to our team at the Worsley site, which represents a great opportunity for us to streamline operations even further, and the potential for multi-user operation is a key focus for us over the coming months."

Damion Laycock, logistics director at Americana, added: "Clipper’s expertise in delivering retail logistics solutions for a wide range of brands made it a natural choice for us, and we are looking forward to working in partnership with the team."
