Stewart Oades

Stewart joined the Clipper Board as a non-executive director in March 2009 from Christian Salvesen. Having completed the sale of Christian Salvesen to Norbert Dentressangle in December 2007, Stewart stepped down from his position as CEO and supported the integration process in a consulting capacity until September 2008.

Prior to joining Christian Salvesen in 2005,Stewart was an executive board director at Exel Plc and was UK chairman and CEO of Exel’s European retail and consumer sector. Oades’ earlier career included six years as regional logistics director for Safeway Plc, and time spent at Heron Distribution and SPD Group.

Stewart holds additional directorships including Transaid and GS1, and was recently named as the new President of the Freight Transport Association. His significant experience further reinforces the Clipper Board to help the business continue to evolve as an industry leader. Most recently Stewart has joined the board of Palmer and Harvey as Ned.
